TROJAN VIRUS

A Trojan Virus gets it's name the famous Trojan Horse as depicted in the epic story "Trojan War", as told in the epic poem of Virgil's "The Aeneid". The Trojan Horse (pictured below) was a large wooden horse built by the Greeks, in which they hid 30 men. When the horse was wheeled into the city of Troy, the men attacked and began the battle that brought down the mighty Troy!

 

A Trojan Virus works using the same principle. It enters your computer by hiding amongst another software program, which may appear to be safe and trustworthy. Once inside it reeks havok on your system (hence being referred to as malicious) and can be very difficult to get rid of.

  • provides access to the hacker whereby your personal information can be stolen.
  • effects the way your computer performs such as deleting files, modifying functions and programs on your computer.
